Update: Director Training, SECs

We get started this week.

I hope everyone is staying healthy and hanging in there. It was a tough end to the semester and new challenges await us as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

During this trying time, your student leaders are getting down to work starting now with training for the new directors taking place today and tomorrow.

I ran on a platform of transparency and I am to keep that promise, keeping you informed on what’s happening with myself and your new board of directors.

In that same spirit, I want to let you know that over the course of April several directors were involved in the decision-making in regards to interviewing students for the role of Student Engagement Coordinators.

The coordinators, or SECs, essentially take on a very similar role that the executives once held. IGNITE got rid of executives earlier this year at the Special Meeting in January 2020.

While I was not involved personally in this process, I look forward to meeting the new SECs, learning how be the best director possible during training and bring forward the platform I ran on starting with the first board of directors meeting on Friday.
